The Most Popular Netflix Thriller Of All Time Now Has A Sequel
This new Netflix original movie hit the streamer on July 14th and shot directly to the #1 spot worldwide. This post-apocalyptic sci-fi horror has some big shoes to fill and seems off to a great start. Bird Box Barcelona is the movie everyone is talking about this week. This is a follow-up to Bird Box, the most popular thriller ever to hit Netflix.

It was written and directed by Àlex Pastor and David Pastor. It is a parallel story to 2018’s Bird Box. The original film was based on the novel of the same name written by Josh Malerman.
If you need a refresher, Bird Box, followed a mother trying to get her two children to safety in a world ruined by an unseen presence. It was directed by Susanne Bier and adapted for the screen by Eric Heisserer. It stars Sandra Bullock, Trevante Rhodes, Sarah Paulson, and John Malkovich. The movie is currently the fourth most-watched movie on Netflix.
Bird Box Barcelona stars Mario Casas (The Innocent, Cross the Line), Alejandra Howard (The Wasteland, Fatima), Georgina Campbell (Barbarian, All My Friends Hate Me), Naila Schuberth (Blackout), Leonardo Sbaraglia (Wandering Heart, Today We Fix the World), and Diego Calva (Babylon, Narcos: Mexico).
