Put This Wicked New Christmas Horror Movie On Your 2023 Watchlist
The 2022 survival thriller “Fall“, which garnered significant acclaim and commercial success under Lionsgate, is gearing up for an expansion. Capstone Studios has officially greenlit two sequels to the film, marking its evolution into a franchise.
Scott Mann, the original movie’s director and co-writer, is on board to produce both sequels. He will also take on the roles of co-writer and director for the third installment. Collaborating on the sequels are producers Mark Lane and James Harris from Tea Shop Productions, Christian Mercuri of Capstone, David Haring, and Mann through the Flawless banner. Executive producers Dan Asma, John Long, and Roman Viaris are set to return. Financing for both sequels will be handled by Capstone CEO Christian Mercuri, with shooting for “Fall 2” slated for June 2024.
On the upcoming projects, Mercuri expressed enthusiasm, stating the sequels present “wonderful opportunities to expand on the original.” He emphasized the team’s commitment to delivering another gripping cinematic experience to global audiences.
Echoing Mercuri’s sentiments, Mann conveyed his excitement about continuing the journey. He hinted at a “special cinematic experience” in the works and expressed gratitude to the production team for their support.
The next two films, “Fall 2” and “Fall 3”, will see the return of characters from the inaugural film and introduce fresh faces. The storyline of the original revolved around two friends, portrayed by Grace Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner, who face life-threatening challenges after climbing an abandoned radio tower.
The success of “Fall” was unexpected, with the film topping charts in multiple countries and raking in over $20 million at the box office against a $3 million production cost. It also secured a nomination for the best foreign film at the Golden Rooster Awards, China’s Oscar equivalent. Notably, the film incorporated the TrueSync technology from Flawless to adapt certain dialogues for a wider audience.
