Ken Jennings Named Sole Host of Jeopardy! As Game Show Parts Ways with Mayim Bialik
Ken Jennings has been named the sole host of Jeopardy! after producers of the game show decided to part ways with co-host Mayim Bialik.
“We made the decision to have one host for the syndicated show next season to maintain continuity for our viewers, and Ken Jennings will be the sole host for syndicated Jeopardy!” producers said in a statement on Friday.
Bialik initially broke the news of her departure on social media. “As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news. Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!” she wrote. “I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a pat of the Jeopardy! family.”
Following Alex Trebek’s death in November 2020, Jennings and Bialik were named dual hosts of the television game show. The two took turns hosting the daily syndicated version of the show, while Bialik also hosted primetime specials. Bialik was absent from the fall 2023 episodes of Jeopardy! as she participated in the SAG-AFTRA strike.
