It might not feel like it but spring is just around the corner and, whilst it might be hard to believe, warmer days, prolonged sunlight and the renewed will to step outside is only weeks away.

To get me in the springtime spirit I’m retiring my raincoats a little early in favour of a new season jacket trend that offers versatility, a classic twist and an undeniably chic finish to every outfit. Whilst the cropped trench coat trend has been lying dormant for a few seasons, outshone by its popular older, long-hem sister, this season fashion people are reassessing their wardrobes, with an eye for fresh silhouettes and easy-to-style staples leading their decisions. What’s more, the term “cropped trench coat” is suddenly spiking in Google searches, so there’s clearly a broader appetite for them.
