Elizabeth’s 5-Minute Egg and Bagel Protein Sandwich
When I have less than 10 minutes to make something healthy for breakfast and I’m also craving something warm and comforting, this is the simple recipe I make over and over again.
With around 25 grams of protein, I feel good knowing I’m starting the day right!
This recipe was featured in my “3 DELICIOUS High-Protein Breakfasts (Ready in 10 minutes or less!)” video that recently went viral, so watch it on this page or on Youtube to watch me make this recipe if you want to see it in action.
Choosing the Right Ingredients:
- Protein-Packed Bagels: Opt for a high-protein bagel like Daveâs Killer Bread bagels, which offer 11 grams of protein each, adding a significant boost to your meal.
- Quality Eggs: Eggs are a complete protein source, containing all nine essential amino acids. They are also rich in vitamins D and B12, pivotal for bone health and energy metabolism.
- Grass-Fed Butter or Your Preferred Oil: Using high-quality fat for cooking not only adds flavor but also aids in vitamin absorption.
Recipe Instructions:
- Prepare the Egg: Melt about two teaspoons of grass-fed butter in a pan. Crack 2 eggs and let it cook until the edges start to set. Gently scramble it, adding a pinch of salt and pepper for taste.
- Add Cheese (Optional): Sprinkle some cheddar or a Mexican cheese blend over the egg as it cooks, allowing it to melt and mingle with the eggs, creating a creamy texture.
- Toast the Bagel: While the egg cooks, toast your bagel.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Layer the cheesy egg mixture on the toasted bagel. Add a dash of hot sauce if you like a little spice.
- Serve: Enjoy your protein-packed breakfast sandwich hot and fresh!
