Stephen King takes in an astounding amount of media. It seems that when he’s not hard at work on a new novel, the prolific author is busy consuming copious amounts of movies and television. King often jumps onto social media to share his thoughts on what he’s been watching at any given moment. He sometimes sings the praises of films and series he loves. But on occasion, King shares his musings on a property with which he did not connect on any level.

A while back, the author took to Twitter (X) to ask his legion of loyal followers about the worst horror film they have watched. In the same post, the author shared his pick for that (dis)honorable distinction.

King’s Tweet reads: “What is the worst horror movie you ever saw? For me, Blood Feast.”

It’s hard to fault King too much for failing to see the merit in this oft-maligned picture. Blood Feast is a pretty outlandish affair. After all, it revolves around a man murdering women and collecting the spare parts to resurrect an Egyptian goddess. There’s definitely an audience for such a film. But many people who enjoy movies of this particular ilk seem to like poking fun and good-naturedly lampooning the ordeal as much as anything.

If you are a glutton for punishment who enjoys bad movies, you are in luck. You can find Blood Feast streaming on Tubi (for free with ads) as of the publication of this post.

Blood Feast was directed by the notorious purveyor of schlock Herschell Gordon Lewis. Louise Downe penned the screenplay. The film stars William Kerwin, Mal Arnold, Connie Mason, Lyn Bolton, and Scott H. Hall.

The setup for the worst horror film Stephen King has ever seen goes something like this:

In the sleepy suburbs of Miami, seemingly normal Egyptian immigrant Fuad Ramses (Mal Arnold) runs a successful catering business. He also murders young women and plans to use their body parts to revive the goddess Ishtar. The insane Ramses hypnotizes a socialite in order to land a job catering a party for her debutante daughter, Suzette Fremont (Connie Mason), and turns the event into an evening of gruesome deaths, bloody dismemberment, and ritual sacrifice.
