Thanksgiving Menu Ideas | Elizabeth Rider

I love a Classic Thanksgiving Menu.

I want an herb-roasted turkey, something orange (I prefer squash over sweet potato), green beans in some form, mashed potatoes with turkey gravy, perfectly seasoned stuffing (I make it on the side with turkey stock to prevent the turkey from drying out), and a few other classic sides.

Here’s my 2024 Thanksgiving Menu (serves 8-10) and a suggestion for a mini menu if you’re making Thanksgiving for 2-4 people.

I made the entire dinner early this year with the help of my husband, and we loved it! I bought the pies at Costco and made homemade whipped cream—if you’re making a lot of the dinner from scratch, let something be easier and buy pies or dessert.

  • Creamy Mashed Potatoes with Garlic (my go to, and I use the turkey stock I made the week before to make the gravy)
  • Sweet Potato Casserole with Pecan or Marshmallow Topping
  • Roasted Fingerling Potatoes with Herbs
  • Twice-Baked Potatoes with Cheddar and Bacon
  • Non-potato starchy addition: Mac and Cheese (I make this recipe and skip the tomatoes and breadcrumb and use Beecher’s cheddar for a holiday sometimes; everyone loves it!)
