Daniel Radcliffe Responds to MCU Wolverine Rumors

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has responded to the frequent rumors that he is preparing to play the X-Man Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In a video made by Vanity Fair, Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff, and Lindsay Mendez — who are all starring in Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway — questioned one another while attached to a lie detector. Midway through the video, Mendez asked Radcliffe if he started the rumors that he’d be playing Wolverine and if that was why he’d recently gotten buff.

“No,” the actor stated. “I got buff because I am obsessive. You’ve seen my parents, they’re like insane fitness people and so that’s been passed on. But no, no Wolverine. Flattered, but no.”

Why is Daniel Radcliffe rumored to play Wolverine in the MCU?

Rumors involving Radcliffe and the role of Wolverine have been floating around online for years. Since Disney bought Fox and the film rights for the X-Men came to Marvel Studios, Radcliffe has been a popular fancast for the beloved mutant hero.

Back in 2022, Radcliffe himself dispelled the rumors at the time. While speaking with ComicBook, he said, “I appreciate that somebody is clearly going like ‘Wolverine’s actually short in the comic books, you should get like a short guy to do it!’ But I don’t see myself, I don’t see them going from Hugh Jackman to me. But who knows? Prove me wrong, Marvel.”
