Kirsten Storms is reprising her role as Maxie Jones on General Hospital, and the wait for her thrilling comeback is almost over.
A General Hospital rep has reportedly confirmed her return as Maxie Jones on Thursday, February 12. Storms shared the exciting news on Instagram on January 21, posting a mirror selfie from her dressing room with the caption, “Boom. 2026 already…that was fast. Back at work!”

Maxie’s storyline took a dramatic turn in August 2025. The show crafted a storyline that allowed Kirsten Storms to take an extended break. Maxie was written into a coma and sent to a Boston care facility.
Kirsten Storms had first announced her hiatus in July 2025. The actress shared on Instagram that she had discussed her plans with GH’s Frank Valentini. Storms wrapped up filming in June and thanked the show for understanding her need for a break, appreciating their support.
Kirsten Storms’ health had taken a turn in January 2025, when a brain scan revealed an aneurysm on the right side of her brain, prompting her to reevaluate her life. She opened up about this on Instagram in October, sharing that the diagnosis led to her decision to relocate from LA to Tennessee. The Dirty Soap actress prioritized her physical and mental well-being, as well as those of her daughter, Harper. Storms was also scheduled to undergo a coiling procedure to treat the aneurysm.
However, just before Christmas, Kirsten Storms shared an update on her health and hinted at a possible return to General Hospital, saying she might be back in Port Charles soon.
