You Can See Everything and Netflix’s La Bola Negra have become the most-talked-about films this year. The two movies are breaking major records following their recent release.

Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s You Can See Everything is a documentary that follows convicted fraudster Elizabeth Holmes and her partner, Billy Evans, in the weeks before Holmes began serving her United States federal prison sentence.

The film made its theatrical debut on October 16, marking the biggest box office opening for a documentary in more than a decade, via TheWrap. It has beaten Morgan Spurlock’s 2013 concert film and documentary One Direction: This Is Us, which opened to $15.8 million from 2,735 screens.

According to A24, You Can See Everything has already received more than 2000 screenings thanks to overwhelming audience demand.

However, when it comes to non-music documentaries, You Can See Everything now has the highest opening weekend since Michael Moore’s 2004 film Fahrenheit 9/11.

Additionally, the movie currently holds a whopping 99% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. It has also scored an impressive 4.7 out of 5 on Letterboxd from 3.3k fan ratings.

La Bola Negra also ranks among Letterboxd’s highest-rated films of the decade

Directed by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, La Bola Negra is now the highest-rated film of 2026 on Letterboxd. At the time of writing, it has an average member rating of 4.41 out of five, beating Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey (4.34).

La Bola Negra also holds the No. 1 spot in Letterboxd’s Top 250 Films of the 2020s. The Voice of Hind Rajab trails right behind at No. 2, while Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse comes at No. 3.

La Bola Negra is a queer epic inspired by the unfinished work of the same name by Federico García Lorca and Conejero’s play La piedra oscura. It features a stellar cast that includes Guitarricadelafuente, Miguel Bernardeau, Carlos González, Milo Quifes, Lola Dueñas, Penélope Cruz, and Glenn Close.

The movie received widespread critical acclaim following its premiere at the 79th Cannes Film Festival this year. It holds an 87% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Additionally, La Bola Negra has been selected as the Spanish entry for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards.
