Blood and Honey’ Expands Theatrical Release
One of this year’s most unlikely releases is definitely, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. The film has taken a classic A. A. Milne; E. H. Shepard tale and blended it into a blood-soaked, slasher. A very unlikely mashup. In Blood and Honey Pooh and Piglet are masked killers who go on a brutal killing spree. Originally, the film was due out for a one-night-only Fathoms Event in a handful of theaters. That has now expanded to nine days in 1,500 theaters. A much bigger release than originally planned.
Director, Rhys Waterfield’s film is a new take that has since become a trend. The Mean One was a twisted tale of The Grinch and word is we will see other kid tales turned into horror films very soon. Next up, a twisted tale based on Peter Pan.
The synopsis for Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey goes like this:
“Feral and bloodthirsty, Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet terrorize Christopher Robin and a group of young women at a remote house.”
Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey will run from Wednesday, February 15 and running through Monday, February 23. You can pickup your tickets right HERE at Fathom Events.
