Composer Dante Tomaselli Pays Tribute to John Carpenter With New Track `Elizabeth Dane’
Film director and composer Dante Tomaselli has just released a single from his upcoming album that pays tribute to horror great John Carpenter. The track’s titled “Elizabeth Dane.”
Carpenter fans will recognize that as the name of the ship in Carpenter’s The Fog (1980). The film sees ghost pirates exacting revenge on a small coastal town.

Tomaselli tells Wicked Horror the single is from his upcoming album called Holy Terror, which will release soon.
“It’s my official homage to John Carpenter as it’s inspired by the vengeful ghost ship in The Fog,” according to Tomaselli.
Fans of Carpenter’s films and scores such as the original Halloween will recognize the inspiration for the intense, sometimes throbbing electronic instrumentals of “Elizabeth Dane.” The tune features a powerful beat and flourishes that evoke a sense of suspense, dread, and otherworldly intrusions.
Tomaselli, who was dubbed one of the horror network Fearnet’s “Favorite Underrated Horror Directors,” has directed films including Desecration (1999) and Satan’s Playground (2006).
In addition to Holy Terror, Tomaselli’s musical work includes the score for Desecration, plus electronic albums such as Scream in the Dark (2014) and Witches (2017).
The director-composter hails from Patterson, N.J., and has cited films such as The Exorcist and Don’t Look Now as inspirations in addition to Carpenter.
