Director James Mangold Breaks Down His Gothic Vision of ‘Swamp Thing’
James Mangold has done some amazing things. Among them, we have seen Copland as well as Logan. But we have yet to see Mangold’s Swamp Thing. While out chatting with the latest Indiana Jones film, Mangold went into detail on his ideas for a very cool and very horror-centric Swamp Thing.
That’s right. Mangold’s Swamp Thing would be all horror and all gothic. He also explains that he would like it to be a concise story and not a money movie franchise.
“While I’m sure DC views Swamp Thing as a franchise, I would be viewing it as a very simple, clean, Gothic horror movie about this man/monster.” Mangold said.
Mangold went on to say that his Swamp Thing film would be much more of a Frankenstein movie more than anything else. Of course, our sad monster in the middle of the gothic horror would be Swamp Thing.
Sounds very cool to us. Plus, with Mangold at the helm we would be very excited about the possibilities of what he would offer up.
What do you think about Mangold’s idea for Swamp Thing? Would he get your vote of confidence? Let us know in the comments section.
