Fede Alvarez’s ‘Alien’ Takes Place Between Ridley Scott’s Film and James Cameron’s Sequel


In the past couple of weeks, we have seen a couple of images from Robert Egger’s upcoming Nosferatu. The first of those images revealed Lily-Rose Depp in a shadowy grasp and the second one up showed off Nicholas Hoult with a blurred-out Nosferatu in the foreground. Well, we now know that The Lighthouse and The VVitch director’s next film will have a Christmas release date.

The Egger’s film will follow a vampire who is obsessed with a woman and unwittingly leaves a trail of death in its wake.

“The audacious filmmaking of Robert Eggers is always a gift for fans, and we can promise that his Nosferatu is planning quite the Christmas feast,” Focus Features chairman Peter Kujawski stated.

The 1922 Nosferatu that Eggers film is based on goes like this:

“In this highly influential silent horror film, the mysterious Count Orlok (Max Schreck) summons Thomas Hutter (Gustav von Wangenheim) to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains. The eerie Orlok seeks to buy a house near Hutter and his wife, Ellen (Greta Schroeder). After Orlok reveals his vampire nature, Hutter struggles to escape the castle, knowing that Ellen is in grave danger. Meanwhile, Orlok’s servant, Knock (Alexander Granach), prepares for his master to arrive at his new home.

Nosferatu stars Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson, Simon McBurney and Willem Dafoe. Producers include both Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus.

Egger’s Nosferatu will stalk audiences in theaters beginning December 25, 2024.
