Guillermo del Toro Calls This Fantasy Film on Max a “masterpiece”

Guillermo del Toro is a cinematic icon. Full stop. The Oscar-winning filmmaker knows just how to leverage scares for maximum effect. So, when we learned del Toro once took to Twitter to share some of his favorite ghost stories committed to film, you know we took note.

The celebrated director listed several supernatural efforts that have made an impact on him over the years. He named films you’ve probably seen, like The Changeling, The Sixth Sense, and The Shining. But the title that stands out to us is A Ghost Story. In the tweet, del Toro simply says, “David Lowery’s A Ghost Story. Masterpiece.”
