Have a Killer Thanksgiving With These Turkey Day Horror Movies

YouTube, a great place to find a video on about every topic known to man. The platform just might be where the internet ends.

When it comes to horror, YouTube is filled with men and women who love the genre and convey that love to you, the viewer. If they catch your fancy you might hit “like,” if they are consistent you might subscribe.

We have picked a handful of YouTube horror influencers that you might like. Each has their niche, but all are entertaining, trustworthy and feel like a part of our horror family. Speaking of which, you can join ours on YouTube by clicking HERE.

Meet Kainan, an intimidating but lovable personality who is known for doing horror movie lists, especially those streaming on Tubi; they should throw him a sponsorship at this point.

What you’ll notice right away is he wears an eyepatch which has become his signature look. It’s not an accessory or a costume; he chooses to wear it for viewers who might be squeamish about looking at his affected eye. We love his catchphrase too: if he loves a movie he’ll say it’s one he, “highly, HIGHLY” recommends! Now our headline kind of makes sense, doesn’t it.

Cody Leach

When I watch Cody I get the sense he takes his horror very seriously and that’s a good thing because it makes his opinions more trustworthy; so much so he has me rethinking some of my favorite films that he didn’t like.

He delivers his opinions and reviews like a five o’clock news anchor which makes him appear overly serious, but again,  it’s that confidence we appreciate. It makes him a stand-out among the herd.

Chris Stuckmann

Perhaps the most tenured YouTuber on this list, Chris is another on-camera horror enthusiast who seems very serious about his craft.

He’s been under some pressure lately because his debut feature film Shelby Oaks was recently released in theaters. He doesn’t let it go to his head though and he continues to post video reviews all with a smile on his face.

The Cobwebs Channel

Mostly reviewing obscure titles from his Blu-ray collection Daniel of the Cobwebs Channel is a horror movie enthusiast who loves his cult films.

But his light and breezy videos are so refreshing I found myself opening my notes app to make a list of his recommendations. We love that he makes longer videos too because his personality is so cozy you’ll want to sit a spell.

WeWatchedAMovie

Is it offensive to call Mike of We Watched a Movie a dude bro? Maybe, but that’s the energy he gives off and personally, I love it.

His double-entendres are masterclass and his off-color jokes, although cringy, will make you chuckle. Recently he called Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter a, “hot piece of skid mark ass.”

He’s charming and funny and very vocal about his likes and dislikes. He often appears with his friend Jay in live streams, but in our opinion Mike is dominant personality.

Critical Overlord

Mostly horror news and editorials on the genre, Critical Overlord has a “breaking news” concept and it actually feels legit although rarely are sources given. However, even his unconfirmed items seem like scoops.

But be careful if you want to go into a movie blind. Critical Overlord might be too well-informed for its own good.

3C Films

Host Cris Parker does his recordings in the typical behind-the-desk format. RBG lights aglow behind him and an ever- changing background makes for an exciting studio setting.

Cris does all things horror and he just loves it. He’ll sometimes dress in costumes to fit the topic of his video or bring in props to use during his hot takes.

We love his opinions and reviews because he is so animated when he does them. It’s hard work and we’re glad he’s up to the task.

Spooky Astronauts

Emma is from Australia and she’s one of the best female horror movie reviewers we’ve come across so far. Maybe it’s her deep dives into genre sub genres or her obsession with disturbing films. Whatever it is it’s a chemistry with a good vibe.

She takes subscribers  along with her to press screenings and theatrical movie premieres where afterwards she does her reviews from the front seat of her car.

It’s not a complicated format and we appreciate her long hours or editing time to give us intelligent and well thought out hot takes.
