A lot of horror fans have fallen in love with the works of creator Mike Flanagan. Considering his chokehold on Netflix and his ongoing Stephen King adaptations, it’s no wonder that he’s picked up a serious genre following. So, it’s a good thing Rotten Tomatoes once tapped him for an all-out horror Binge Guide.

Flanagan’s favorite movies include some gems like Issa Lopez’s Tigers Are Not Afraid. Adam Robitel’s The Taking Of Deborah Logan and Karyn Kusama’s The Invitation are also on display within this pretty eclectic and impressive list. However, one title specifically jumped out at us. Turns out Flanagan is a fan of Dread’s own Harpoon. See what he sad to say about the film below:

In the film, rivalries, dark secrets, and sexual tension emerge when three best friends find themselves stranded on a yacht in the middle of the ocean, desperate for survival.

Harpoon is directed by Rob Grant and was written by Grant and Mike Kovac. It stars the excellent Munro Chambers, Chris Gray, and Emily Tyra.

Here’s what Mike Flanagan had to say about the Dread film:

This wickedly funny thriller by Rob Grant puts three characters onto a boat, sets them adrift in the middle of nowhere and then lets their individual natures do the rest. Dark, unpredictable, and downright mischievous in its humor, this punches well above its weight. Come for the excellent performances, stay for the twisty, turning plotting. A real delight across the board.

Harpoon is currently available to stream, rent, or buy on all sorts of platforms, including Prime Video, Peacock, Plex, Redbox, The Roku Channel, Tubi, and Vudu. However, if you would rather own a physical copy, you can buy a Blu-ray from our store.
