‘M3GAN’ Wins Queer Film Critic Award, ‘Talk To Me’ Also Nominated

The 15th Annual Dorian Awards were announced today, and it was nice to see some horror titles celebrated by GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics. While Andrew Haigh’s supernatural tearjerker All of Us Strangers swept the three major categories, horror’s own M3GAN took home the gold for Campiest Flick, defeating the likes of Saltburn, Bottoms, and even Dicks: The Musical.

Immediate cult classic M3GAN was also nominated for best genre film of the year, alongside Talk To Me, Dread Central’s favorite release of 2023. Poor Things ultimately claimed the prize, with Godzilla Minus One and All of Us Strangers also getting nominations.

M3GAN, Godzilla Minus One, and Talk To Me were well-received by horror fans and critics last year. Dread Central’s Tyler Doupe wrote that M3GAN was filled with dark humor and camp. And, in my 4-star review, I wrote that Talk To Me grabs hold of you by the wrist and refuses to let go, calling it a nasty, mean-spirited good time from start to finish.
