Stateside Final Trailer For ‘Godzilla Minus One’ Drops

Shark movies have just gotten sillier and sillier. The genre fatigue is real, but every once in a while filmmakers make one that rises above the garbage and No Way Up appears to be that movie. Releasing in 2024, this part-disaster film, part shark movie, sees passengers on a commercial airline crashlanding in the ocean. Wait — before you thumb your nose, this one actually looks well-acted and suspenseful.

Of course, it follows some of the same “trapped” Murphy’s Law movie tropes, but honestly, this doesn’t look half-bad. There are many phobias at work here. We have fear of flying, fear of sharks, and fear of drowning. That gives the filmmakers a lot of scenarios to work with and plenty of chances to increase our pulses. There is even an Alien 3 homage where the monster literally comes face-to-face with the final girl. That is worth points in my book.

Speaking of the monster, the shark in this movie looks pretty realistic. It doesn’t look like it’s been rendered on 2008 software. In fact, it looks practical.

Take a look at the trailer for No Way Up below and let us know what you think. The release date isn’t set in stone, it just says “coming soon,” so look for it probably in 2024.

Trailer tag: “Characters from different backgrounds are thrown together when the plane they’re travelling on crashes into the Pacific Ocean. A nightmare fight for survival ensues with the air supply running out and dangers creeping in from all sides. The stricken airliner comes to rest perilously close to the edge of a bottomless ravine with the surviving passengers and crew trapped in an air pocket. With their air supply rapidly running out, a nightmare fight for survival ensues as dangers from all sides hone-in on them.”
