‘The Third Parent’ Poster Teases Tommy Taffy’s Ancient Past
EXCLUSIVE: Tommy Taffy is coming to the suburbs, but he’s apparently been tormenting families for thousands of years.
Dread Central has an exclusive look at a new piece of teaser poster art for The Third Parent, which brings Elias Witherow’s creepypasta creation to theaters this winter.
While the first teaser held back the reveal of Crispin Glover (Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter) as Tommy Taffy, it teased the different families this creature has tortured throughout history. Now he’s coming for Rob Lowe’s (Salem’s Lot) family on the Fourth of July.
There will be fireworks.
The new poster pulls from that historical imagery, presenting a slide labeled “North Africa 8000 BC.” A cave painting shows two adults holding a child’s hands, with an enormous figure looming behind them. This family clearly wasn’t alone.
I expect this to be the first in a series of teasers exploring Tommy’s history as we work our way toward the full trailer and the reveal of Glover as the tormentor. That couldn’t be more perfect casting.
Written and directed by David Michaels, The Third Parent follows Tommy Taffy as he disguises himself as a human, infiltrates a suburban neighborhood, and imposes authoritarian rule over an unsuspecting family. Roselyn Sánchez also stars.
Bleecker Street will release the film only in theaters this winter, with an exact date still to come. Revisit the teaser below and keep an eye on those glimpses of Tommy’s previous victims.
