2025 Health & Wellness Trends Forecast
With January in full swing, it’s time for one of my favorite annual blog posts: The 2025 Health & Wellness Trends Forecast.
This year, wellness is all about harnessing innovation while staying grounded in what truly supports long-term health.
I’ve been a health coach for over 15 years, and I can say that in just the last 12-24 months, the health and wellness landscape has evolved at an astonishing pace (mostly thanks to rapid advancements in technology and artificial intelligence (AI)).
What once seemed like science fiction—wearable devices that track way more than just your steps, comprehensive blood panels at hugely discounted rates, the revelation that women were NOT included in nearly every scientific study up until the mid 2010s, and even mattress covers that track and optimize sleep—these things are now becoming commonplace.
Looking back at my 2024 predictions, seeing how many of last year’s trends became foundational to how we live is incredible. The rise of longevity practices, a deeper understanding of gut health and women’s health, and tracking that goes far beyond the basics, there are a lot of exciting things in store for 2025 and beyond.
AI-Based Health Tracking and Holistic Beauty are at the top of my list for 2025 trends. AI is everywhere, and the holistic beauty movement in 2025 is about honoring the body as a whole—focusing on health, nourishment, and balance to achieve a beauty that’s authentic, sustainable, and aligned with the individual’s values and lifestyle.
Here are the health and wellness trends that I think will define 2025:
1. Personalized Health Recommendations Via AI (That Work!)
Like it or not, artificial intelligence, specifically Large Language Models (LLMs) like ChatGPT, is here to stay.
And they’re not just “good” at aggregating and analyzing data. They are GREAT at aggregating and analyzing data.
These advancements in AI are revolutionizing nutrition and individual health at a pace that we’ve never seen before. Personalized eating plans based on your personal blood glucose readings, specific and detailed analysis of bloodwork and health metrics, and even rapid reviews of genetic information are becoming the new standard.
Wearables (like the Oura Ring or Whoop), testing with apps (such as Function Health), and at-home tracking now provide insights into nutrient needs, gut health, and metabolic patterns, making healthy eating simpler and more effective than ever before.
I plan to write more about how to use AI throughout the year effectively, so be sure to stay on my email list for updates.
2. Holistic Beauty Goes Deeper
In 2025, Holistic Beauty is (finally!) taking center stage.
Beauty is no longer just about external appearances, and you don’t have to pick between “toxic” or “all natural.”
Holistic beauty trends are shifting away from quick fixes and harsh treatments toward practices that align with the body’s natural processes and promote overall well-being.
From a supplement perspective, colostrum and adaptogens, like ashwagandha and rhodiola, are gaining popularity for their ability to help the body manage stress and improve skin health from within. Healing foods rich in antioxidants, collagen-boosting nutrients, and hydration-supporting properties are becoming staples in beauty routines, emphasizing the link between diet and radiant skin.
On the technology side, non-invasive skincare treatments are making waves, offering alternatives to traditional cosmetic procedures. LED light therapy, microcurrent devices, and even at-home laser tools are more accessible than ever, providing effective ways to rejuvenate the skin while supporting its natural regenerative systems.
Additionally, the beauty industry is embracing the importance of mental and emotional well-being in achieving a truly healthy appearance. Mindfulness practices, stress-reduction techniques, and prioritizing rest are becoming recognized as essential elements of a holistic beauty routine.
This year also brings a continued celebration of natural aging, shifting the focus from “anti-aging” to “pro-aging.” More individuals are choosing to embrace their natural changes while seeking treatments and products that enhance their unique beauty rather than masking it.
3. Gut-Brain Connection Gets the Spotlight
Gut health has been trending upward for the last 10 years, and the link between gut health and mental well-being is front and center more than ever.
A healthy gut microbiome is now recognized for its significant role in mood, stress, and cognition. Probiotics, prebiotics, and fiber-rich diets are key tools in supporting this vital connection, making gut health an even bigger focus in 2025.
4. Exercise for Mental Health
Exercise isn’t just about weight; it’s a huge part of a good mental health strategy.
I personally LOVE this movement (pun intended) because I realized long ago that don’t need to exercise to maintain weight, I need it to keep my brain and mood happy and healthy.
While traditional fitness goals remain important, activities like yoga, tai chi, and mindful walking are now celebrated for their role in reducing stress and boosting emotional well-being.
Strength training is also gaining recognition for its mental health benefits, adding a new dimension to fitness routines.
5. Sleep as a Status Symbol
People are finally understanding that good sleep is the ultimate wellness marker.
It doesn’t cost any money, and some people don’t like to admit it, but sleep is the #1 thing that most people need to get better at to improve their health.
With the fall of hustle culture (#girlboss is SO out), people are prioritizing rest like never before. Advanced sleep trackers, optimized bedroom environments, and a focus on relaxation practices make high-quality sleep a non-negotiable part of a healthy lifestyle.
6. App-Based Mental Health Support
Mental health is finally as prioritized as physical health.
Telehealth services, app-based therapy, workplace wellness programs, and community resources are making support more accessible. The focus is on preventative care, mindfulness practices, and removing barriers to seeking help.
7. Regenerative Farming and Food Sustainability
Sustainability is taking center stage with the rise of regenerative agriculture. Consumers are demanding food that’s not only good for their health but also nurtures the planet.
Regenerative farming practices are leading the charge in combating climate change, improving soil health, and producing nutrient-dense food.
8. Nature as Medicine
Nature is reclaiming its place as a cornerstone of health. From forest bathing to outdoor fitness and simply unplugging for a walk, connecting with nature is essential for mental and physical well-being.
Grounding, or direct physical contact with the earth, is gaining popularity as a simple yet powerful way to reduce stress, improve sleep, and promote overall well-being. For those unable to spend time outdoors, grounding mats are becoming a popular alternative, offering a convenient way to experience the benefits of earthing from the comfort of home.
More initiatives are being launched to make green spaces accessible and encourage people to embrace the healing power of the outdoors.
9. Longevity Practices Go Mainstream
This was one of my predictions from last year, and it’s still gaining speed. Longevity practices are moving into everyday life.
From intermittent fasting to cold exposure, functional fitness, and supplements like NMN, these habits are no longer niche. In 2025, people are embracing these tools not just to extend life but to enhance the quality of each day, ensuring vitality and health at every age.
As we move into 2025, these trends highlight how far we’ve come in blending innovation with timeless wellness principles. It’s about finding balance—using technology to empower healthier choices while staying rooted in practices that nurture mind, body, and soul.
