3 Great Fiction Reads May 2024

I love to escape into a gripping fiction book when I need some downtime.

Indulging in a good story is a fantastic way to create a healthy distraction and give your mind a break from day-to-day stressors.

I just got this new Kindle Scribe reader. The regular Kindle felt too small for me, so I was intrigued by this new one that also functions as a notebook. I use it for reading, but the notebook/drawing aspect of it is cool, too.

I was SUPER hesitant to move to a Kindle. I used to have a Kindle, but I needed an actual book. However, we’ve been traveling a ton, and I finished my book on our last vacation and was bummed I didn’t have a new one to start. Plus, it will save me so much room in my bag!

This Kindle Scribe is what I have and I highly recommend it. The size is so much more like a regular book. I’ve really been enjoying it.

Here are 3 fiction books that I binged this month:

The Silent Patient

This psychological thriller is an absolute page-turner!

Alicia Berenson’s life appears perfect. If you’re a fan of suspenseful thrillers with dark twists, this book is a must-read!

The author, Lisa Jewell, weaves a story that’s as unsettling as it is addictive. Meet Josie Fair, who’s not quite what she seems. When she meets Alix, a popular podcaster, at a bar one night, their lives become entwined in ways neither could have anticipated. Alix becomes the subject of Josie’s fascination, and what starts as an innocent friendship soon turns into something more sinister. The narrative alternates between Josie’s perspective and Alix’s podcast transcripts, creating a layered, immersive reading experience. I was hooked.

The book delves into themes of identity, obsession, and the darker sides of human nature. It’s a chilling reminder that sometimes, the people we let into our lives can be the ones who pose the greatest danger.

The Last Flight

This novel is a thrilling rollercoaster that keeps you guessing until the very end. It took me about 25% of the book to get into it, but I’m so glad I kept reading.

Two women. Two flights. One last chance to disappear.

Claire Cook has a perfect life. Married to the scion of a political dynasty, she has the money, the looks, and a secret that makes escaping her life the only option. On the other hand, Eva, a woman whose life is not as enviable but equally desperate, also needs to disappear.
