Cleaning Up My Beauty Routine

Disclosure Thank you to Nordstrom and Collective Voice for sponsoring today’s post. All products were purchased, used, and loved by yours truly.

It seems like every day I’m learning of another product I use being called out for the amount of harmful ingredients it’s composed of. I used to not really care, if I’m being totally honest, taking the mentality of “but that’s my favorite scent!” or wondering “how harmful can they actually be?” But as a mama to two little boys who I want to grow old with, and wanting to make sure I’m setting up our home as safely as I can be for them to grow old too, I knew I had to start making changes. Laundry items, beauty products, candles, cleaning essentials, and more – there are swaps that can be made everywhere you look!

I’ve been working on swapping my beauty products to cleaner options, and honestly, it was a lot easier than I was expecting! Nordstrom made it easy with their natural beauty page, which has over 1200 products included for easy free shipping and free return shopping [or buy online, pickup in store if you live near a Nordstrom!]! Making cleaner swaps doesn’t necessarily always mean changing the stores that you’re already shopping at, just making different product choices! Plus, when you’re shopping Nordstrom Beauty as a Nordy Club member, you’re earning Notes to use on future shopping trips! Win-win, Nordstrom does it again!

So today I’m sharing a handful of the cleaner beauty products that I’ve switched to as I continue working on cleaning up my beauty routine.

Ilia Fullest Volumizing Mascara // Osea Undaria Algae Body Oil // Tula The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser // Sunday Riley C.E.O 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum // Supergoop! Glowscreen Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 40 // Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick

Osea Undaria Algae Body Oil // Tula The Cult Classic Purifying Face Cleanser

Osea Undaria Algae Body Oil

Sunday Riley C.E.O 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum

I’m starting the day with a clean face through a clean product, thanks to the Tula Cult Classic Cleaner [which OMG it smells so good!]. There’s a reason it’s called the “cult classic” – it’s loved by SO many! I also swapped my full body lotions for this Osea Undaria Algae Body Oil, which gets rave reviews for it’s skin hydrating and firming powers! I apply it immediately after the shower while my skin is still a bit damp, and let the oil set as I I get ready for the day! Also for skincare, I swapped my former Vitamin C serum for the Sunday Riley CEO Vitamin C brightening serum for even skintone, hiding dark spots, and a bit of a radiant complexion!

Supergoop! Glowscreen Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 40

Primer and SPF 40 all-in-one? Yes, please! Supergoop! has SO many options [which you can check out here] when it comes to providing your daily sun protection, but I love the Supergoop! Glowscreen that can be worn alone, adding a dewy glow to my skin, or under makeup as a primer and SPF! Plus, with Supergoop! I don’t have to worry about all the junk that’s in so many sunscreens!

Ilia Fullest Volumizing Mascara // Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush Stick

I get it- it can be scary to swap your go-to makeup staples for a cleaner option. Will it look the same? Will it stay on the same? Will I find anything that compares to what I have used for the past 5 years?! Well, let me say, these two swaps have made me a believer that sometimes the cleaner option is even better. I am LOVING this Ilia mascara and the Weston Atelier blush stick! The mascara makes my eyes pop like never before, the the blush keeps my cheeks blushin’ all day long!

I hope that sharing these cleaner beauty finds have helped you realize how easy it can be to switch to a safer beauty product, to take that first step to a cleaner lifestyle, all from our favorite go-to store, Nordstrom!
