Function Health Review & Discount Code

Function Health Discount Code Biomarker Testing Elizabeth Rider

As someone whose job is to stay on top of current health & wellness news & technology, I was excited to try out Function Health to see if it lives up to the hype.

(Note: Function Health did NOT pay me for this post. I did join their affiliate program because I loved my experience, so you can use this Function Health discount code & link or use code ERIDER10 for 10% off. All opinions here are my own.)

Function Health offers over 100+ lab tests for your entire body, delivering a complete health snapshot. The results are easy to understand, thanks to personalized insights and a clinician’s summary written by top doctors.

Why not do this at my doctor’s office? To be blunt, no doctor I’ve ever gone to would ever do all of this, mostly because of insurance B.S. I have what would be considered the best insurance you can get through my husband’s work, and the last time I had a physical, my doctor ordered about 10 tests and spent 15 minutes with me. It’s not the doctor’s fault. It’s a broken system. Also, I’ve done similar testing at a naturopath and spent over $2k (which I’m still a bit in shock about), and it still wasn’t as comprehensive as this. I can’t more highly recommend doing this with Function Health.

My Review of Function Health

I love the idea of distilling complex wellness data into practical tools, and I’ve been incredibly impressed with Function Health. Accessing over 100 lab tests (the most comprehensive I’ve seen!) in one secure, easy-to-use platform is a huge step forward in giving individuals more agency and control over their health.

Here’s an example of what my personalized dashboard looked like the day after my first test (with sensitive data omitted):

Here’s what I loved about my experience:

  • Ease of scheduling: It was easy to sign up and choose my first lab testing dates. If you are a pre-menopause female, you’ll have 2 lab draws to start; the first on days 2, 3, or 4 of your cycle, and then another one week later. (Yes, they test your hormones, too, included in the price!)
  • Ease of testing: They partner with Quest Labs and I was able to go to a lab within 2 miles of my home, which made it super easy; I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. You’ll need to be fasting, so I suggest booking an early AM appointment.
  • Testing 100 Biomarkers for one price: And, you can add-on additional heavy metals testing and other health screenings. For example, as someone who likes to enjoy a glass of (mostly organic or low alcohol) wine, I was interested in more in-depth liver testing than what a traditional screening offers. I also recently turned 40, so I wanted to get a good snapshot of my hormonal health.
  • Detailed (and easy) instructions: The app asks you a series of questions to ensure you’re testing at the right times and sends you text messages in the days leading up to remind you to stop all supplements (to get more accurate lab results). It also told me not to eat fish within 48 hours of my test to get a more accurate reading of the heavy metals test I added on.
  • Re-testing, included in the first fee: You can re-test specific biomarkers 3-6 months later, included in your annual membership fee.
  • Clinician feedback: A clinician reviews your results and provides feedback and suggestions.
  • Quick and easy-to-read results: It can take 2-3 weeks to process your labs, but they release them to you as they get them, and some of mine were available the next day! The analysis is the most detailed I’ve seen. Here’s a snapshot of one of my tests as an example (with sensitive data omitted):

An additional feature I love is that Function Health tracks your results over your lifetime, securely storing all your data in one place. It’s like having your entire health history at your fingertips, ready to guide you toward smarter decisions.

And the best part? It’s (relatively) accessible. What could cost $15,000 in a traditional clinic is available for just $499 annually (get 10% off with code ERIDER10). They do not use insurance, but you can use your Health Savings account to get it.

Pros and Cons (My Opinions)

Pros

  • Comprehensive Testing: 100+ lab tests covering every system in your body. It would be almost impossible to get all of this done at the same time through a typical doctor’s visit.
  • Personalized Insights: Results include a detailed clinician’s summary from doctors.
  • Lifetime Tracking: Your data is securely stored and tracked over time, giving you a full health history.
  • Accessibility: The $499 annual cost is a fraction of what traditional testing would cost. You can save 10% with my Function Health Discount Code: ERIDER10
  • Proactive Health Management: Take charge of your health without relying on insurance companies or waiting for symptoms to escalate.
  • User-Friendly: Easy-to-understand results that empower you to make informed decisions.

Cons

  • Upfront Cost: While affordable compared to traditional options, the $499 annual fee may feel steep for some. I do still think this is the best price you can get on this type of testing, but not everyone has the ability to cover it.
  • No Insurance Coverage: Function operates outside of the insurance system, which may deter those who rely heavily on insurance for care.
  • DIY Mindset Required: This tool is perfect for proactive individuals, but it requires a willingness to take the lead in managing your health.

For me, the pros outweigh the cons by a long shot. All in all, I’ve been very impressed!

Function Health is redefining what it means to take charge of your health, putting cutting-edge tools and personalized insights directly into your hands. If you’re ready to leave behind the frustration of traditional healthcare and step into a proactive, data-driven approach, this might just be what you’ve been waiting for.

And one last rant…

While many Americans are divided in beliefs, one thing that rings true for just about all of us is that we are fed up with our broken healthcare and insurance systems. The individual doctors, nurses, and providers are wonde3rfu and not the problem, but the ways in which care is blocked or not available is a problem for nearly everyone. Between high costs, limited access, and constant red tape, many of us feel powerless when it comes to our health. Private companies are sprouting up to help alleviate these problems, and Function offers a way to take matters into your own hands and finally gain control.

If you’re tired of feeling stuck in a broken system and want to make 2025 the year you take control, I can’t recommend this enough!
