The Best Adhesive Nipple Covers
We’re all for the #FreetheNipple movement here at LIY [seriously, we can go days without strapping into a bra], but some occasions call for coverage. A Baptism, Granny’s 80th birthday celebration, a work function? There are just some situations in life where we prefer not to draw attention to the girls. If you’re looking for a solution to conceal the nips when a traditional bra isn’t an option, you’re in the right place. We took matters into our own hands [and our own tatas 😉 ] to test five of the best selling adhesive nipple covers on the market to find the best of the best. Three women with different skin tones and cup sizes A-DDD rated them on things like adhesion, coverage, comfort, visibility and removal [because nobody wants their lady lumps to actually look like Barbie when it comes time to rip them off at the end of the night]. Hold on to your tiny tata hats, friends. Here are the best adhesive nipple covers!
Brands We Tested
If you’ve followed LIY for any length of time, you probably recognize this brand! We’ve been using and loving these for years and after trying several other top brands, they’re still our faves! They grip and stay without any painful removal, are nearly undetectably smooth, AND they can be washed without losing any adhesion. We love that they come in 5 shades and fit cup sizes A-D+.
Side by side, these are nearly identical to Nippies brand. Similar to Nippies, they cover a range of skin tones and offer two different sizes. They stayed on well and had the smoothest coverage of all the brands we tried! Unfortunately, since they edges were SO smooth [and thin], we noticed them beginning to peel up over time. If you need a one time use with invisible coverage, these are a great option. But if you’re looking for a cover to use over and over again, these just didn’t have the longevity as Nippies.
While these weren’t our favorite overall, the value is worth noting! This brand comes as a set of 4 nipple covers for only $8 – a great price compared to $26 for one set mentioned above! If you’re looking for a “save” version, these are worth a try. We love that there is a mesh covering the nipple area on the adhesive side, making them less painful to remove and causes less irritation than some other brands. Note: they only offer three color options and it’s “one size fits all”.
We’ve been seeing ads for these Cakes Body Covers everywhere lately and were excited to give them a try! Note: they are NOT adhesive like most other brands, making them a great option for anyone with sensitive skin. Unlike other covers that rely on adhesive to stay in place, they utilize a textured silicone that gently grips the skin. The brand promotes them as “grippy, not sticky” and suggests the more you sweat, the better they stick. These will not stay on unless you’re wearing fitted clothing to hold them in place. But proceed with caution; I wore them with an athletic dress that had a built-in cami which worked well, until it came time to use a public restroom and they ended up on the floor of my stall.
While we love a lot of Hollywood Fashion Secrets products, these were our least favorite of the brands we tested! They were NOT smooth or seamless making them pretty noticeable under fitted clothing. If you’re in a pinch and need to swing by CVS on the way to an event, these would probably work; they gripped well, come in several skin tone options, two different sizes, and didn’t hurt to remove! But if you’re looking for a smooth, discreet product, these are not it.
