Our latest LIY Reads Book Club choice — I am so excited to dive into this one! I was a big fan of Beach Read by the same author. Bring on the days of summer with a book in one hand and a cocktail in the other! Cheers!
If you were a fan of Every Summer After, you’re going to love Carley Fortune’s latest! The lakeside resort setting + the nostalgic romance storyline = the perfect summer read!
Speaking of Every Summer After, if you haven’t read it yet, it’s a must-read for summer! Cue all the young love nostalgia!
One of my favorite romances of the year – so far! I love the oceanside setting and the bittersweet, nostalgic storyline about first loves. Sam and Wyatt grew up spending summer’s at the beach together, and eventually [not so surprisingly 😉 ] fell for each other, but break up before college. Fast-forward 14 years and Sam is engaged to Jack. The two visit the family beach house, only to find Wyatt staying next door, bringing back allllll the feels for Sam. A fiancé + a first love + a week at the beach, what could go wrong?! Fans of Every Summer After by Carley Fortune will devour this one! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this perfect summer read!
Elin Hilderbrand is the QUEEN of beach reads and her latest novel, The Five-Star Weekend, is no exception!
The majority of the LIY Team read One True Loves this summer and lets just say, we have thoughts!! We won’t spoil anything, but it’s a story about Emma who marries her high school sweetheart, Jesse. Jesse tragically dies in an accident and Emma spends the following months grieving and eventually, moving on. But surprise! Jesse’s not dead. Dun, dun, dun! Now she has to decide whether or not to take him back, or move forward with her new life.
This book isn’t new by any means, but why oh-why was I dragging my feet to read it for so long?! It was SO good. It has everything I want in summer beach read from the Caribbean setting to the incredibly lovable characters. Five stars!
Fourth Wing // A Court of Thorns and Roses
Claire here! I haven’t read a fantasy novel since high school [throwback to Twilight & Hunger Games days!] but these two books are EVERYWHERE right now. I borrowed ACOTR from a girlfriend and can’t wait to dive in! If you’re looking for something totally different, these have been highly recommended by the LIY Reads Community!
I’m only a few chapters in and already hooked! This one has a unique plot and already has me questioning who dunnit! It takes place on Santa Catalina Island in California, making it the perfect summer thriller. It’ll be available August 1st, be sure to add this to your TBR list!
