What to Cook in March
The days are getting longer, the weather is (hopefully) getting warmer, and we are officially in the throes of march. If you’re looking for some seasonal inspiration for what to cook this March, I’ve got some delicious recipes that are sure to please!
And make sure to stay tuned this month because I’ve got more amazing recipes to share with you.
Now let’s take a look at what you can cook this March.
1. Avocado
Avocado toast is a classic for a reason. It’s simple, delicious, and can be customized to your liking. Plus, it’s a great way to use up any overripe avocados you might have hanging around.
Since avocado is super mild in flavor, it can be paired with tons of different foods. I like to have fun with my toast by adding bright and colorful garnishes.
These 6 avocado toast recipes are my all-time favorite ways to enjoy this classic brunch dish. But if you have more variations that I haven’t mentioned, definitely let me know in the comments so I can try them out!

2. Mushrooms
This Mushroom Kale Strata recipe is perfect for brunch or a leisurely weekend breakfast. It’s packed with healthy ingredients like mushrooms, and kale, but feels indulgent thanks to the cheesy egg base.
When it comes to breakfast or brunch (and any meal, really) I am all about dishes that taste and look way more difficult to make than they really are.
This dish is super easy to make and can be made ahead of time so all you have to do is pop it in the oven when you’re ready to eat.
3. Peas
Guacamole is always a good idea, but sometimes it can feel a little heavy. This lighter Pea Guacamole swaps out some of the avocados for peas, resulting in a dip that’s just as flavorful but with fewer calories.
I love serving it with sweet potato and beet chips but you can always serve it with tortilla chips or veggie sticks for an easy snack or appetizer.
4. Asparagus
Asparagus is one of the first vegetables to come into season in the spring, so make sure to take advantage of it while you can!
This roasted asparagus recipe is super simple but really highlights the flavor of the asparagus. It’s perfect to cook this March. Serve it as a side dish or add a protein like grilled chicken or shrimp to make it into a main course.
5. Citrus
No springtime meal is complete without a refreshing glass of lemonade! Citrus is in season right now and this Lemonade with Honey recipe uses fresh lemons and mint for a delicious twist on the classic drink.
If you’re feeling fancy, you can even add some sparkling water or vodka to make it into a spritzer. Cheers!
6. Cabbage
Another great ingredient to cook this March is cabbage. I am not Thai in heritage, but I love Thai food and this recipe is inspired by salads I’ve had at restaurants.
This Thai Peanut Superfood Slaw is a colorful, nutrient-packed side dish that will elevate any meal. It’s packed with protein, fiber, and tons of flavor, making it a nutritious and delicious option. Plus, it’s vegan-friendly and gluten-free!
7. Cauliflower
If you are looking for a delicious and easy dinner recipe, this cauliflower leek soup is a perfect choice. This simple soup combines hearty vegetables with savory spices and herbs to create a comforting dish that your whole family will love.
Whether you’re cooking for yourself or for a large group, this recipe is sure to become a new favorite.
These are just a few ideas for what to cook in march. I hope this gives you some inspiration and gets you excited about cooking seasonal, delicious food!
