Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato Part Ways with Scooter Braun: Report
Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato have reportedly both parted ways with music manager Scooter Braun.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lovato split with Braun last month and is currently seeking new management. The singer signed with Braun in 2019 and released two albums, 2021’s Dancing With the Devil … the Art of Starting Over and 2022’s Holy Fvck, under his leadership.
Puck News’ Matthew Belloni reported Grande’s split from Braun on Twitter Monday, though he did not offer any additional details. Grande signed to Braun’s SB Projects in 2013 and released six albums under his management.
News of Grande and Lovato’s split with Braun comes days after Belloni reported that Justin Bieber had also left his management company. Representatives for both Bieber and Braun subsequently denied the report.
In 2019, Ithaca Holdings, Braun’s former holding company that included SB Projects, acquired Big Machine Label Group, subsequently purchasing the masters to Taylor Swift’s first six albums. The following year, he sold her discography to an investment fund for around $300 million. The deal, which Swift described as her “worst case scenario,” inspired her to commit to one of the most groundbreaking acts in recent music industry history: re-record her first six albums in order to own her music herself, thereby standing in complete control of her finances and the way her music is used. Her next re-recording, 1989 (Taylor’s Version), arrives October 27th.
