billy woods and Kenny Segal Announce New Album and 2023 Tour Dates



New York rapper billy woods and Los Angeles producer Kenny Segal have announced a new collaborative album: Maps arrives May 5 via Backwoodz Studioz. The road trip–inspired project is their first collaboration since 2019’s Hiding Places. woods and Segal will also tour together for the first time ever, with a string of dates in May and June. Since issuing Hiding Places, woods has released a handful of solo works such as Terror Management, Aethiopes, and Church. In 2020, he teamed up with avant-garde poet, songwriter, and educator Moor Mother for Brass, which included the single “Furies.” That same year, Armand Hammer (woods’ duo with Elucid) shared Shrines, followed by 2021’s Haram—their joint LP with the Alchemist.

Segal has worked with a number of artists including Open Mike Eagle, R.A.P. Ferreira, and Hemlock Ernst (aka Samuel T. Herring of Future Islands). He also produced Armand Hammer’s Shrines track “Dead Cars.”
