Laufey Signs With UTA

UTA has signed Laufey for global representation in all areas, the agency announced on Monday (July 27).

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter was previously with Wasserman (now THE·TEAM), but reportedly left the agency in the wake of the fallout over founder Casey Wasserman‘s inclusion in the Epstein files. Wasserman has since exited the agency and put it up for sale.

Laufey is currently on tour behind her Grammy-winning album A Matter of Time, which has played arenas in North America, the U.K., Europe, Asia and Oceania. Launched last fall, the tour has sold out shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, London’s O2 Arena and SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines, among others. Currently in Australia, the tour is slated to wrap on Sept. 12 with a show at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City.

Known for combining classical music, pop and jazz, Laufey debuted with the 2021 EP Typical of Me. That set was followed by a trio of albums, including 2022’s Everything I Know About Love, 2023’s Bewitched and last year’s A Matter of Time. Both Bewitched and A Matter of Time won the Grammy for best traditional pop vocal album. She was also honored with the Innovator Award at the Billboard Women in Music Awards earlier this year.

On the charts, A Matter of Time marked Laufey’s highest debut to date on the Billboard 200, opening at No. 4. She’s also charted three singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including “Christmas Magic” (No. 56), “Santa Baby” (No. 89) and “Lover Girl” (No. 91).
