Review: THE AMERICAN RELICS – “Rachel Rachel”
A song from the past, one from the current or a future chart stopper? It’s like stepping through a door into the past where there were ghosts in the shadows. The ghosts of an encounter with love that had tried and failed. Lead singer, brainchild, and song writer of THE AMERICAN RELICS amplifies the emotion with his strong vocals…
Like many of the songs originated by the band “Rachel, Rachel”is tinted with the flavor of the past but fits on today’s Spotify playlist. Ten years from now the song will still work as it’s timeless. It has an infused jazzy element with a sad romantic theme. It’s heartwarming, emotional and passionate.
THE AMERICAN RELICS are comprised of John Gitano, frontman, guitarist and main song writer for the group. Adrienne Dugger is also on vocals and is a world class Opera singer who has performed in the biggest venues all over the world. Nelson Montana is a multi-instrumentalist who has worked with artists including Nile Rodgers and Kim Sozzi. Other members include Ian Zane on bass and Josh Salant, and Joni Ernst on keys.
Other songs by the band include “I Need You Home”, “The Temperature is Hot”, “You Just Don’t Know Until You Know”, and a cascade of others. Definitely a band to look forward to hearing more from. This is a band who took their influences from the 60’s and 70’s and incorporated it with today’s sounds. Their unique style is a great testament to the music of yesterday, today and tomorrow.
