Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Welcome Second Baby
Rihanna gave birth to her second child on Thursday, August 3, TMZ and People report. Rihanna and her partner, A$AP Rocky, have not revealed the baby boy’s name, but TMZ’s sources say it starts with an “R,” just like his older brother, RZA Athelston Mayers.
Rihanna confirmed her second pregnancy when she headlined the halftime show at the Super Bowl in February. The show also marked her first public performance since 2018.
Rihanna gave birth to her first child with A$AP Rocky, RZA Athelston Mayers, in Los Angeles. He arrived on May 13, 2022, less than four months after Rihanna first shared the news of her pregnancy.
A$AP Rocky revealed his son’s name and its inspiration in a post celebrating the baby’s first birthday: “WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN 🤲’ HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN . RZA❤️.” In an interview with CNN, the elder Staten Island rapper extended “all the blessings in the world” to his namesake’s parents.
Rihanna has maintained that she’s still working on a follow-up album to 2016’s Anti. “Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos,” she said to British Vogue in February.
