Chicago Fire Adds Shadowhunters Alum Matthew Daddario To Season 15 Cast
Things are heating up in the Windy City: Matthew Daddario (“Shadowhunters”) is joining the cast of NBC’s “Chicago Fire” as a firefighter candidate for the upcoming Season 15, TVLine has confirmed, in a role that’s possibly recurring. (Deadline first reported the news.)
New “Chicago Fire” cast member Da’Vinchi broke the news first on Instagram, posting a photo of himself along with Daddario and co-star Brandon Larracuente (aka Vasquez) on the set. (Da’Vinchi’s casting was announced in July.)
“Chicago Fire” — which returns for Season 15 on Wednesday, October 7 at 9 p.m. on NBC, airing between fellow #OneChicago series “Chicago Med” and “Chicago P.D.” — has seen a number of high-profile cast exits lately. Last month, news broke that original cast member Joe Miñoso, who has played Joe Cruz since Season 1, would be leaving the show next season after a few episodes to wrap up his storyline. Then days later, TVLine confirmed that Dermot Mulroney, who plays Battalion Chief Dom Pascal on the NBC firefighter drama, will be leaving early in Season 15 as well.
Daddario is best known for playing demon hunter Alec Lightwood on the supernatural drama “Shadowhunters,” which wrapped up a three-season run on Freeform in 2019. (Check out our series finale post mortem here.) His other TV credits include “Why Women Kill” and “Blue Bloods.”
