Fire Country Season 4 Trailer Confirms that Death We All Abhorred, and Nothing Will Ever Be the Same

It is a rough time to be a station captain of a firehouse on television right now.

The trailer for Fire Country Season 4 is out, and it has revealed that Captain Vince Leone died in the Bella Vista fire.

The explosive trailer picks up immediately after the structure collapsed with several members of Station 42 inside it.

Jake takes control of the scene and has an erratic Bode restrained after trying to run into the structure that undoubtedly has been consumed by the fire.

“I will never forgive this,” Bode yells from inside the engine.

It seems that Bode and Jake are forever doomed to be enemies.

When the show started, they didn’t see eye to eye, and this event will undoubtedly exacerbate their differences.

From a rational standpoint, Bode has never been the most logic.

What did he think he would do? I get that he’s emotional at that moment, but if anything, it would have made things worse.

They would have one more dead Leone, compounding an already sad situation.

Captain Leone is given a sendoff befitting a man of his stature.

His funeral is one for the books, and if this were not such a sad occasion, it would be an exciting event.

Grief takes over everyone’s life, and none more than Bode and Sharon.

Oh, poor Sharon. She recently survived a life-threatening illness, only for her husband to die.

However, life goes on for the living, but not without a promise from Bode.

“I wanna spend the rest of my career protecting my father’s town, my father’s station; my father’s mission,” he says.

Survivor’s guilt threatens to destroy Sharon.

“You should have left me there,” she screams at her father-in-law, revealing that he was the one who saved her.

As the aftermath continues, Bode believes he’s owed the captain’s position, which worsens his issues with Jake.

Meanwhile, we catch glimpses of more arcs from the season, including a role by Shawn Hatosy.

While Jake’s relationship with the lawyer appears to be going well, Bode and Gabriela reach a pivotal point.

Audrey also has some words for Bode, and it doesn’t seem like it’s anything good.

After a particularly doozy arc in Season 3, Manny might be getting a better arc in the upcoming season as he takes over the father-figure role that is now wide open.

The trailer teases more epic emergencies, coupled with a lot of edge-of-your-seat drama.

We theorized in one of our numerous editorials and opinion pieces what Vince’s death could mean for the show.

And while we didn’t anticipate a good outcome, we’re getting a mix of both.

The death of a character like Vince can rejuvenate a show, which seems to be happening here.

However, it can also leave a gaping chasm in the narrative, one it can never recover from.

Based on this trailer, Fire Country is sure to continue burning hot.

However, trailers have been known to oversell, so we’ll have to tune in and see.

Fire Country returns on CBS on Friday, October 11.
