Stuart Fails to Save the Universe Season 1 Episode 2 Keeps Things Simple But Still Entertaining

I’ll be honest and say that I have started to have questions from the episodes of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe.

I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those shows with a lot of plot holes and is really just for fun, so I’m trying not to let the questions bog me down too much.

Overall, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe continues to develop a fun storyline, making it clear that we’re getting a different alternate world with each episode we delve into.

And yes, we get a hint of what’s to come at the end of each episode.

The Opening Credits Remain Worth Watching

When it came to The Big Bang Theory, I always watched the opening credits. Even now, in the world of streaming, I’ll watch them.

There are some shows that the opening credits become an integral part of the story, and Stuart Fails to Save the Universe is one of those shows.

They’re slightly different from the first half-hour installment, and I get the feeling that each one will be the same.

Plus, who doesn’t love seeing the title of the episode loud and clear on the screen? In this case, it’s “Spoiler: Zack’s in This One.”

Fortunately, we know who Zack is. Of course, then there’s the question of whether he’s going to be a help or a hindrance in this world.

It’s Zack!

Brian Thompson Smith is a delight on the screen once again. While he tries to be serious, he still has that lovable level of stupidity.

I’m not quite sure I believe Penny would be the one to take charge of this resistance group, but hey, it’s an alternate world. We have no idea what she’s been through.

On the other hand, Leonard’s mom as the one on the screen during the rehabilitation was excellently played.

As I said, this is a show that I’m trying not to get bogged down by when it comes to questions and things that don’t quite work out.

Charmed Did This Before

The storyline itself is nothing all that new when it comes to some sort of alien being trying to create a happy-go-lucky world.

As soon as I saw that everyone had to be pleasant all the time, I thought about Charmed Season 7, when the Avatars looked to create their Utopia.

There tends to be a darker element to these types of worlds, and Stuart Fails to Save the Universe Season 1 Episode 2 wasted no time in showing us what that darker element wants.

While Charmed opted to just remove people from the world like a Thanos snap, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe just had everyone get zapped.

Eventually, people were arrested — did anyone else think that Zack was going to be one of the cops at first? — and sent to a rehabilitation center.

And the cops are so nice about it! I just love the way Bert gives in and gets in the car while Stuart and Kripke run off.

Well, they try to run off!

I was actually surprised Bert even got zapped at one point, because he’s always so friendly and nice to people. I think it’s the first time I’ve seen him get annoyed!

By the way, not being “unique” isn’t a bad thing. So many have done the same basic story, but how characters play out and how resistances form is always going to be the entertaining part.

I do have a question, though, as we get into this installment. What happened to the versions of Stuart, Bert, and Kripke from this cube-controlled world?

They disappeared from the apocalyptic world rather than switching with the cube versions, so were the cube versions already dead?

Stuart Isn’t Even Trying to Save the Worlds

Something that I am enjoying is that Stuart and his friends aren’t exactly fixing the problems within the worlds.

The title of the entire show initially suggests that Stuart at least attempts to fix things.

We know he is trying to get to Leonard, Sheldon, and Howard to fix the mistake that they created, but he’s not exactly pushing himself to do it.

Throughout this second installment of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe Season 1, he goes off and does his own thing.

After learning that Denise was left behind, he decides he needs to go after her in this eerily happy place.

Bert and Kripke attempt to speak with Sheldon, while Stuart completely follows his own needs and wishes, and it suits his somewhat selfish personality to a T.

It makes this idea of the group not even attempting to fix the downsides of each parallel universe realistic.

That’s not their goal. It never has been, and it probably never will be.

Instead, we have a group of men (and now Denise) who just know that they need to find the smartest people they know.

How long will it take for them to realize that maybe they’re going to be the ones who have to fix the machine themselves?

Kripke should be able to do something about the machine, right? He is a physicist, so he should have some knowledge of it.

I get that when it came to the world he was the dictator in, he wouldn’t want to change anything. But eventually, I wouldn’t put it past him to realize that he doesn’t need Sheldon.

Those two always had a rivalry of sorts, and maybe it is time for Kripke to prove he’s the smarter of the two.

But it’s fun to see the group jump from world to world, figuring out the ups and downs while trying to get to Caltech each and every time.

How long can this last? Probably about a season. I think by the end of Stuart Fails to Save the Universe Season 1, they’ll need to have fixed the whole issue in some way.

I can’t see this show lasting more than a few seasons, as there needs to be an endpoint with something like this, but it’s going to be a fun ride.
