Last week, Netflix has released the official trailer for Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85, which hits the streaming service on April 23.
Today, Dread Central unveiled dozens of officially approved images from the new series, further highlighting its Real Ghostbusters-inspired tone, with the kids facing off against a wide range of unique monsters!
Tales From ’85 is set in the Stranger Things universe between Seasons 2 and 3 and features characters fans already know and love — but with a twist:
“The year is 1985, it’s a freezing winter in Hawkins, and our heroes are about to embark on an epic journey where the original characters must fight new monsters and unravel a paranormal mystery terrorizing their town.”
The trailer looks way more fun than the live-action show and evokes the animation energy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem if it were to cross over with The Real Ghostbusters. There’s less focus on the Upside Down and a lot more unique creatures, such as the pumpkin monster. The goal seems less about stopping Vecta and more about cleaning up the leftover mess in Hawkins. Fun stuff!
The animated series hails from showrunner Eric Robles and Stranger Things co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer.
The voice cast includes Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Benjamin Plessala as Will, Brett Gipson as Hopper, Jeremy Jordan as Steve, as well as Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo and Lou Diamond Phillips.
